The main Summit takes place over two days (30 April 2019 and 1 May 2019), followed by a member only day on the 2 May 2019, with a side event day on 29 April 2019. This event also marks our 21st World Congress.
The Estoril Congress Center (ECC) is set in Estoril, which is in a beautiful location on the Portuguese coast, 25km from Lisbon. You can find travel directions from Lisbon airport to Estoril here
29 April: side events – mixed access
We try to ensure side events enhance the member connection and networking experience across a range of consumer topics. Side events are organised by a range of sponsors on a range of topics. Attendance at side events will be by organiser invitation, therefore some may be open to everyone where as others will be relevant to specific attendees only.

30th April – 1 May: summit - all attendees
Focused on our digital society and economy. Participants will be Consumers International members as well as a wider selection of stakeholders from civil society, business and government in order to encourage debate, questioning and collaboration.
2 May - Consumers International members
Member connection and sharing day on a range of consumer issues. Exclusively for members. Our General Assembly will also take place on this day.
Nearly every language is spoken at the event — we have attendees from more than 100 countries,
We always try to translate as much as possible within costs constraints. On this occasion our working language at the summit will be in English unless listed below;
- Website: English and Spanish
- Registration: Portuguese, English, Spanish and French
- Event app: Portuguese, English, Spanish and French
- Plenary sessions: Portuguese, English, Spanish and French
- Side events and break outs: English (no translation)
If you would like to arrange your own translation, please email summit@consint.org. We can support arrangements that do not incur a cost for Consumers International and work within the format of the event.
Yes, we’ll be sharing an app with attendees ahead of the event. There will be lots of tips and discussions to help you make the most of your time at the conference.
Registration

Yes, there is 20% early bird registration, that is automatically applied on full priced passes at payment. The early bird discount is available until 31 January 2019.
You will receive confirmation of your place after your payment has been confirmed via an email. You will continue to receive important updates about the event via email.
Yes, you can modify details in your account using your confirmation log in to access your account anytime.
You can bring a printed copy of your email confirmation or show the email confirmation on your mobile device at registration.
If you have bought a pass and would like to cancel your attendee place, you can log back into your account using your confirmation number. As long as you request the refund on the registration platform, at least thirty days in advance of the summit, Consumers International will refund payment for the pass, minus a 10% administration fee. Post thirty days, Consumers International will refund any payment for a pass minus 50% of the total rate. Unless Consumers International agrees otherwise, the refund will be made in the same form as the original payment was received, but in no circumstances will refunds be made in cash. No refunds will be made within seven days in advance of the summit.
Yes, you are able to change the name of the attendee until registration closes on 8 April 2019.
No, please make sure the registration name matches the attendee. As explained above, you can change the name of the attendee up to 8 April 2019, but after that you won’t be able to make name changes.
Yes, all pass rates include 23% VAT. VAT invoices are available on request, by emailing summit@consint.org
No, due to the way conference costs and content is being managed we are unable to offer any day rates for individual days.
We accept credit and debit card payments with Visa, Mastercard and Amex.
All attendees are asked to provide dietary requirements at point of registration. These will be taken into consideration when ordering day time catering.
Hotels and Travel

No, accommodation is not included in the registration fee. A list of local hotels can be found here.
No, we would recommend booking hotel and flights sooner rather than later. With airlines, you’ll find the best flight options and more seat availability the earlier you book. Estoril has limited accommodation options. With hotel rooms, the sooner you book the better the location you’ll secure. There is also the option of staying in Lisbon as it is only thirty minutes by train away from Estoril. You can find more information on travel here.
No, Estoril is very small so most hotels are within walking distance of the event centre. You can find travel directions from Lisbon airport to Estoril here.
