Green Action Fund award winners announced

30 June 2015

Twenty CI Members will receive 3,000USD each to implement Green Action Fund (GAF) campaigns focusing on the theme of ‘Safer, More Sustainable Food for All’.

GAF is an annual award programme which is part of the global campaign Green Action Week and is made available through the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC)

The winners - ten from Africa, six from Asia Pacific, three from Latin America and one from the Middle East - will each run campaigns seeking to promote consumer awareness and demand for food produced using farming methods that exclude chemical pesticides, such as organic farming.

Each year, CI Members in developing countries are invited to submit their ideas for short-term awareness raising campaigns focusing on a particular environmental theme.

Whether you submitted a proposal that was unsuccessful, or did not submit one at all, we still encourage you to take part in the Green Action Week, running in the first week of October (28 September-4 October 2015).

There is no funding available for those not receiving grants from the Green Action Fund but would like to take part in the Green Action Week.

Campaign resources are available for download below for those organisations who wish to take part in the Green Action Week.

Green Action Week seeks to help promote an alternative choice for consumers. Getting involved in this initiative will increase the visibility of your organisation to consumers and government agencies dealing with consumer and environmental issues.
