Instituto Nacional de Protección de los Derechos del Consumidor (PRO CONSUMIDOR)

The National Institute for Consumer Rights Protection, Proconsumidor, is a governmental agency created by the Consumer Protection Rights Act (358-05).

It carry out inspection activities and market surveillance, monitoring of prices and consumer education activities for both the formal and informal educational system. It promotes corporate social responsibility and sustainable and responsible consumption, as well as encouraging and supporting consumer organisations.

Its mission is to protect consumers and users of products and services through the application of legal norms. Proconsumidor has two offices in the metropolitan area and four regional agencies that allow its presence across the country.
