Consumidores en Acción (FACUA)

Andalusia is the first autonomous region of Spain where FACUA was established in 1980 and it has grown into a nationwide organisation with 21 offices in 10 regions with a total membership of near 100.000. FACUA has a very strong media presence and it uses this to act as a watchdog for market abuses. FACUA publishes a regular publication called ‘Consumerismo’, bimonthly, along with two digital bulletins: ‘Consumidores en Accion’, daily, and ‘FACUA Informa’, weekly. Their main interests are consumer advice and redress; comparative product testing; campaigning on consumer rights through information and education activities including training materials. FACUA has collaboration agreements with 24 consumer organizations of 16 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, and 17 organizations of 10 countries in Europe.
