Trust by Design: Guidelines into Action

18 March 2020 / 14:00 - 16:00 GMT / Online

About the web-based conference

Consumers International invites you to join consumer organisations and consumer Internet of Things (CIoT) manufacturers and experts to learn how to apply our new Trust by Design principles and guidelines and help create a safe and trusted ecosystem of smart devices for consumers.

Be the first to test and refine new international privacy guidance

Our programme provides CIoT organisations from across the world with the opportunity to:

  • Learn about why trust is important for consumers when using smart devices and find out how to build trust into CIoT products and services.
  • Shape new privacy guidance for specific features of CIoT products.
  • Connect with manufacturers, consumer organisations and policy makers on the importance and value of creating a trusted, safe CIoT system.

Be the first to comment on new international privacy guidance for a range of rapidly evolving CIoT product features, such as image and video recording, health analytics and location tracking in a unique multi-stakeholder environment of leading consumer organisations, CIoT manufacturers and policy makers.

Launched by Consumers International in 2019, the Trust by Design principles and guidelines set out requirements across six areas to ensure the security, privacy, transparency, user-friendliness and ethical nature of smart products. Developed with consumer organisations and CIoT manufacturers the Trust by Design framework can be used by anyone wanting to build safe and trusted IoT for consumers.
