Consumers International invites you to a workshop:

Consumer IoT: Developing Trust by Design Guidelines

Consumers International is working with Vodafone to fine tune and test a set of trust, privacy and security guidelines for consumer Internet of Things products.

The guidelines have been developed for suppliers and partners who wish to sell their Consumer IoT devices on Vodafone’s soon to be launched IoT sales platform; and are based on the Securing Consumer Trust in the Internet of Things Principles developed by Consumers International, ANEC, BEUC and ICRT in 2017.

The workshop will test these guidelines with manufacturers and developers wishing to use the platform to make sure they are practical and achievable – but also ambitious enough to help meet the privacy, security and consumer protection needs of users.

The workshop is a great opportunity to have your voice heard by a multinational telco interested in improving the privacy, security and trust of its IoT products on offer to its consumers. You will also meet and work alongside startups in the IoT space from across Europe and help build their understanding of the importance of consumer issues in design and development.

The workshop will be preceded by a member-only networking session where you can find out about our latest campaign and advocacy activity including plans for World Consumer Rights Day, as well as hearing about each other’s work.
