International Confederation of Consumer Societies (Konfop)

Dmitriy Yanin is the Chairman at  International Confederation of Consumer Societies (KONFOP). Dmitriy is a member of the Public Council of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare Consulting, and Public Council of the Ministry of Health. 

KONFOP is a non-governmental organisation working for consumers' protection since 1991. Based in Moscow, KONFOP has member-organizations in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan. KONFOP is an advocate for legislative and regulatory changes resulting in safer and healthier environment for consumers. KONFOP’s main focus areas are: financial consumers protection, improving financial literacy; protection of consumers from hazards to their health; tobacco control; healthy diets. KONFOP actively promoted ratification of the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) in Russia; advocated for passage of comprehensive tobacco control legislation; passage of the personal bankruptcy law. KONFOP represents consumers in the national and intergovernmental advisory bodies.
