As Chief Executive Officer of the Consumer Council of Fiji, Seema Shandil’s role is to achieve the Council’s vision, which is to build a society of informed and responsible consumers in which everyone is treated fairly, obtains value for money and is able to exercise their consumer rights
The Consumer Council of Fiji is a statutory body established under the Consumer Council of Fiji Act 1976. Its role is that of a watchdog to ensure protection of consumer rights and interests and to promote practices and a commercial environment, which should benefit consumers, businesses, traders and professionals alike. Under the legislative requirements of the Act, the Council is guided by the General Principles and Guidelines for Consumer Protection of the United Nations.
