Consumer Reports (CR) is a powerful, nonprofit member organization that works for and with consumers for truth, transparency, and fairness in the marketplace. CR uses its independent and rigorous research, consumer insights, journalism, and policy expertise to inform people’s purchase decisions, improve the products and services businesses deliver, and drive regulatory and fair competitive practices. Founded in 1936, Consumer Reports has achieved substantial gains for consumers on food and product safety, financial and health reform, and other issues. The organization has advanced important policies to cut hospital-acquired infections, prohibit predatory lending practices, and combat dangerous toxins in food.
CR has more than six million members and reaches tens of millions of people across its print, digital, and broadcast media, including its flagship website, ConsumerReports.org, Consumer Reports magazine, and CR’s network television show, Consumer101.
